9 Ball

9 Ball is another popular team format offered in amateur league play.  This format is the same game played by the pros & is rapidly gaining in popularity among amateur league players.  Using only balls 1-9 in a diamond shaped rack, the object of this game is for each player to always strike the lowest numbered ball first when pocketing a ball until the 9 ball is legally pocketed.

One point is awarded for each ball pocketed.  The number of balls needed to win an individual match depends on each players assigned skill level.  Teams try to win as many of the 5 weekly matches as possible.  At the end of the session, those teams with the most points advance to Playoffs and/ore Session Preliminaries. Teams who win their Session Preliminaries enter the Championship Finals to compete for a trip to the APA National Team Championships in Las Vegas and a travel assistance fund of $8,00 per team.

During the session teams & individual members may earn trophies, awards and eligibility for members-only tournaments, special events and more.  Check out the Calendar of Events and the rest of the Triad APA website for more info.
